SQ – First off, please tell us a little about yourself? My name is Lubos dE Gerardo Surzin and I am Digital Artist/Matte-Painter.
I have been working on games as 3D Artist only, before starting doing Digital Art/ Matte-Painting. I have been working on projects like Ghost Town, AVP, The Red Baron, Deep Mountain, Tin Man-TV series…etc. as a Matte-Painter and 3D Artist. Right now I am working at Digi Guy`s Ltd. in London. I like humor, so sometimes in my free time I am doing jokes from my friends :) that`s my hobby :) also tennis, snooker, football, ice hockey, music etc. Also I love to going into the country for relax and do some photos and for inspirations.
SQ – When and how did you become involved in 3D? Hehe is funny, but I start with Truespace2 I start doing 3D, when I’ve seen game Doom2. I told to myself, I want to change something there and I want to do my own environment similar to Doom2 style. Than I start to work in Truespace2, after half year I change to 3ds max and Maya. Now I use 3ds max and Maya, but I start to work in Lightwave, because of the company where I am working. I am glad, because I can learn more and it’s a big plus to know different kinds of software and techniques.
SQ – Where do you work at the moment and what’s your position there? I am working at Digi Guy`s Ltd. as a senior Matte-Painter and modeler/sculptor in Zbrush 3.1. It’s really nice work, because it’s not only painting or paint over, but also 3D and I like to create different kinds of environments.
