    Spitfire Hover Bike

    Ahoy Matie's!
Let me start by thanking all the viewers of this original post for their encouraging and gracious comments. I'd also like to appologise for the latencey of completion of this project(I had a series of unfortunate events that made it impossible to complete) but it's finished now so on to the cool stuff!! Yaaarrr!!!

For those that missed the first thread here is the thumbnail sketch.

Here is the finished concept sketch.

    The perspective sketch

This is the 3d handle bars I used in the illustration (the only 3d part)

Here is the Finished profile illustration, done in Photoshop.

This is the perspective illustration, Photoshop.

    Finally the 3d profile.

    The 3d perspective.

    And the money shot!

There is also a modeling 'demonstration' on how I did the bike, Part 1 is now available on my website, here's the link: http://www.bluntfx.com/Pages/Spitfir...pitfire_HB.htm
I call it a demonstration because there is no audio. The cool thing is that it's from start to finish so you see everything. I would like to render out a better version but I can't seem to get anything other than a .wmv out of Premier that's any good. I would like a .mov ideally, so any suggestions are welcome. While you're there check out my site, it's been re-vamped so let me know what you guys think (I'm putting more content on as I get free time).

oh yes, I remember this one!
    Very cool bike
Very well designed from concept to execution.
Reminds me a bit of AkIRA red bike, agressive and sexy

I also would like to see the same style of the bike applied to the girl.
    She is also hot!

very, very wicked. If I could do as good in 2D as you do, I'd never gotten into 3D

Yeah, I remember that great 2D image. It looks really nice in 3D. It would be cool to see a whole gang of these things racing down the streets of Shinkjuku.

Very well done! Extra points for showing (and making) sketches. Translation to 3D is spot on.
    Two tiny points of crit:
    - conceptwise i think the square block (motorblock?) is to...well...square in contrast to the rest of the model.
    - the sticker on this block reflects too much.

For your premiere problem: output an uncompressed avi and convert it using canopus procoder to .mov. Small files with great quality with the right settings.

The Photoshop visualization was also excellent.

Until you mentioned this, I didn't noticed that the first colored versions where done in Photoshop! Those images are even better than many 3d renders I have seen. Really impressive if done in photoshop!

I remember your original thread too. I thought at first it was 3d till I read that it was an illustration. Good job!

    Re: Spitfire Hover Bike

Bike is really nice... love the realistic look. But someone else said it well: the girl should match for the moneyshot. Get those two matched up and the image is "Art-of-Lightwave-worthy" for certain

But... the bike looks like something that Crazy Frog would ride...
